What does it do? The platform lets users post daily outfits, build digital closets, and see how people dress around the world. Since launching in January 2026, it has grown to more than 100,000 users across over 50 countries.

What's the endgame? The funding will support the development and growth of the platform, the company said. Tan, co-founder and chief executive officer, said Lekondo focuses on what people actually wear "rather than relying solely on purchasing and browsing behaviour to understand fashion preferences."

Why it stands out: The round sits in the top 10% by size among US seed rounds in fashion, based on a sample of 1,574 deals — a notable haul for a company less than a year old.

The signal: Backing from a16z points to renewed investor appetite for consumer platforms that treat everyday behaviour, not just shopping data, as the way to read fashion trends.
