The terms: The deal will be paid with an upfront R$9.11 million and R$17.83 million split across 48 monthly instalments. Unifique will also hold back R$2.97 million for 60 months from closing as a guarantee against losses.
What's the endgame? The acquisition consolidates Unifique's customer base in the state. It also extends the fibre-optic transport infrastructure needed to install radio base stations for its 5G service.
The signal: The purchase reflects continued consolidation among regional Brazilian internet providers, as larger operators absorb local networks to build out 5G capacity.
