Oppex AI raises ₹4.2 crore pre-seed to automate production incidents

What's the deal? Oppex AIDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has raised ₹4.2 crore ($500,000) in a pre-seed round led by Info Edge VenturesDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →. Founded by Prasun Kumar and Pranit Kumar, the startup builds an agentic platform to manage and resolve software issues after code goes live.

What's the endgame? Oppex's platform pulls context from observability systems, customer support, cloud infrastructure, and internal runbooks to understand production incidents and automate the response. The broader ambition is to shift enterprise incident management from a human-led to an AI-led process.

Why now? Oppex argues that as AI lets engineering teams ship software faster and with fewer people, production operations struggle to keep pace. Engineers still spend significant time investigating incidents and pulling context from multiple systems, while production issues can erode customer trust.

The fresh capital will fund product development, team expansion, and customer deployments. Oppex says it has already deployed across multiple enterprises, with users in India, the UK, EU, and US.

What they're saying: "AI has fundamentally changed the economics and speed of software development. The next bottleneck is what happens after the code is shipped," said Prasun Kumar.

Chinmaya Sharma, partner at Info Edge Ventures, said Oppex is "attacking the right layer: unifying context across observability, infrastructure and code, then acting on it."

The signal: At roughly $500,000, this sits near the smaller end of pre-seed rounds — a modest bet on an early idea. But it reflects growing investor interest in AI-native tools for the operations layer, where automation has lagged behind the coding tools now reshaping how software gets built.
