Spotnana buys TROOP to fold meetings and events into corporate travel

What's the deal? Spotnana, a provider of modern travel infrastructure, has completed its acquisition of TROOP, a meeting planning and group travel logistics platform. The deal lets travel buyers manage meetings, events, and transient travel through a single system. Terms were not disclosed.

What does each side do? Spotnana runs an open Travel-as-a-Service platform covering booking, traveler profiles, policy management, negotiated rates, and payments. TROOP handles the earlier steps: picking the best location to meet, inviting attendees, managing RSVPs, sharing agendas, and tracking budgets.

Why now? Travel spend for meetings and events can reach 40% of a company's total travel costs, yet it is typically ad hoc and hard to measure. A Business Travel Show EuropeDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → survey found more than 60% of corporate travel and procurement professionals now jointly own travel and meetings, up from 50% in 2025.

What's the endgame? Combining the two gives buyers a unified view of spend, direct content integrations, and links for HR data, expenses, and duty of care. "We believe the time is right to combine these companies and accelerate innovation across the full spectrum of corporate travel needs," said Steve Singh, executive chairman and chief executive officer of Spotnana.

What changes for customers? TROOP was already built on Spotnana's open APIs. Companies can buy it as a standalone product, within a Spotnana suite, or through Spotnana's ecosystem of travel management company channel partners.

The signal: The deal reflects a push to consolidate transient travel, meetings, and events into one managed program. "By uniting with Spotnana, we can set a new standard for meeting and event travel," said Dennis Vilovic, chief executive officer and co-founder of TROOP.
