FORTÉ buys APAC's largest AV integrator Vega Global to build industry's biggest global footprint

What each company does: FORTÉ, founded in 1974, designs and supports communication and collaboration technology for corporate, education, and government workplaces. Vega Global, founded in 1986 and headquartered in Hong Kong, delivers audiovisual, video conferencing, and collaboration solutions across APAC and the US.
What's the endgame? The acquisition adds Vega's 750-plus staff and its 27 offices across 17 countries to FORTÉ. The combined company now serves more than 70 major markets, giving it what it calls the industry's largest global footprint.
Why now? Multinational organisations are increasingly standardising meeting room technology across offices, campuses, and regions. FORTÉ says the deal lets customers deploy scalable solutions "with greater speed and consistency."

Jeff Stoebner, chairman and chief executive officer of FORTÉ, framed the rationale around global consistency. "Multinational organizations need strategic partners who can deliver consistent communication and collaboration experiences wherever their people work and do business," he said.
The signal: The deal reflects consolidation in the workplace-technology market as buyers seek single partners able to deploy uniform meeting-room and collaboration systems worldwide. By absorbing APAC's largest integrator, FORTÉ positions itself to serve multinationals demanding one vendor across every region.
