Try Dealroom →, creating what the combined company calls the world's largest management insights provider. The business will operate as Heron Intelligence, with Nate Singer as chief executive officer and chairman.
What's the endgame? The two firms specialise in systematically evaluating business leadership. Their combined research foundation spans more than 80,000 proprietary interviews across over 5,000 public and private companies, with more than 250 investment firms using their intelligence and diligence tools.
Heron brings more than two decades of diligence experience, an archive of executive interviews, and a platform that turns qualitative research into structured data. Paragon brings ManagementTrackDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a management-first platform built by former buy-side investors that draws on 16 data sets, including its proprietary Earnings Call Evasion Analysis.
Why now? Paragon grew out of a gap its founders experienced on the buy side: plenty of data on companies and markets, but little structured intelligence on the executives running them.
"At a time when investors were seeking to measure every aspect of a company, there was almost no scalable data on the people actually running those companies," said Ty Popplewell, Paragon co-founder and now president of ManagementTrack at Heron. "We believed management should be its own institutional data category."
What changes? The combined firm covers management analysis, investigative diligence, and structured data, integrated across ManagementTrack, Blue Heron ResearchDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, and the Heron Analytics PlatformDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →. It aims to help investors compare management teams, judge whether executives fit a company's strategy, and spot leadership signals before they surface in financial results.
Under the new leadership structure, Popplewell leads ManagementTrack, David Rynecki is founder and president of Blue Heron Research, Anuj Jaithliya is chief financial officer, and Paragon co-founder Colby Howard heads a new Heron division.
The signal: "Investors have built sophisticated systems to analyze nearly every dimension of a company, yet the people making its most important decisions have remained remarkably difficult to assess," Singer said. The deal reflects a push to treat management quality as a measurable investment input alongside financial and market data.
