ZenaTech buys ESM Software, adding 120K+ users to SaaS division

What's the deal? ZenaTechDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → (Nasdaq: ZENA) has completed its acquisition of ESM Software, a Boston-based strategy execution and performance management company. Founded in 1998, ESM supports over 120,000 users across government, healthcare, utilities, financial services, and retail customers in the US, Latin America, Europe, Africa, and Australia. Terms were not disclosed.

What each side brings: ESM becomes the 13th brand in ZenaTech's enterprise SaaS portfolio, adding recurring revenue and multi-year customer relationships. Its platform bundles four products: ESM+Strategy, ESM+OKRs, ESM+Perform, and ESM+Cyber, covering strategic planning, quarterly goals, employee performance, and cybersecurity compliance.

What's the endgame? ZenaTech plans to fold ESM's software into Zoo Office, its beta-stage, AI-powered enterprise productivity platform. The company says the deal expands its portfolio beyond operational apps into strategy execution and compliance, strengthening its pitch to regulated customers.

What they're saying: The acquisition "expands our software portfolio beyond operational applications by adding enterprise-wide strategy execution, performance management and cybersecurity compliance capabilities," said ZenaTech chief executive officer Shaun Passley. ESM chief executive officer Kent Smack said the tie-up would let them "accelerate product development, deliver greater value to customers and expand into new markets."

The signal: ZenaTech, primarily known for AI drones and Drone as a Service, is running an acquisition-led roll-up strategy. Bundling ESM's compliance tools into Zoo Office reflects a broader push to consolidate fragmented enterprise software under a single, AI-enabled platform — with regulated government and defense customers as the target.
