Berry Street merges with India's Healthify to build insurance-covered AI metabolic care
What's the deal? Berry StreetDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a US nutrition care company, has merged with India-based Healthify to form what executives call the largest insurance-covered AI metabolic health platform in the US. The tie-up pairs Healthify's AI technology — including its nutrition assistant Ria — with Berry Street's network of more than 2,000 clinicians and insurance-covered nutrition and GLP-1 care. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Who's who? Healthify, more than a decade old, serves over 45 million users across more than 20 cultures and started by matching patients with dietitians. Berry Street launched in 2023 and has scaled a network across all 50 states, serving over 200,000 patients through partners such as Amazon and WalmartDealroom has a profile for this one. Why now? Healthify was seeking a US launch partner, while Berry Street wanted a consumer AI product. "They had really perfected this combination of AI plus human clinician-in-the-loop for clinically proven outcomes," said Berry Street founder and chief executive officer Noah Kotlove.
What's the endgame? The goal is AI-powered, clinician-backed metabolic health support accessible through health insurance. "We shared the same vision for where the future of metabolic health was going and how AI would play a part in that," Kotlove said.
What changes? Kotlove and Healthify chief executive officer Tushar Vashisht will serve as co-CEOs. The US business keeps the Berry Street brand; Healthify remains outside the US, including in India.
The context: Berry Street raised $50 million from Northzone, Sofina, and FJ Labs in February 2025. Last year it entered weight management with a GLP-1 program letting patients access FDA-approved drugs through insurance — timely, given one in eight Americans now uses a GLP-1.
The signal: As GLP-1 demand reshapes metabolic care, the merger reflects a bet that pairing consumer AI with clinician networks — and routing it through insurance — is the path to scale.
