Hermetiq raises $2.2M seed to automate software build failures for the AI era

What's the deal? HermetiqDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a US startup that automates diagnosis of software build errors, has raised $2.2 million in a seed round. Czech firm Jet InvestmentDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → led as the single largest backer, committing $750,000 through its Jet Venture 1 fund.

What's the endgame? When a software build fails, a scarce specialist engineer must dismantle it while the entire development team waits. "We want to develop technology that can not only recognise why a build failed, but also fix the error automatically," says chief executive officer Jake Newfield (translated from Czech).

Why now? Agentic coding tools now generate far more code, faster and with minimal human oversight. That raises the volume of failed builds — and demand for tools that fix them. "Hermetiq represents the picks and shovels for the entire coming era of AI software development," says fund head Kamil Levinský (translated from Czech).

Who else is in? The round drew tech-sector names: GoogleDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → vice president for Developer AI Niranjan Tulpule; investor Jason CalacanisDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → via his LAUNCHDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → accelerator; and Gokul RajaramDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a board member at Pinterest, Coinbase, and The Trade Desk.

Who's using it? One of the world's four leading AI firms runs Hermetiq's platform in production, according to Jet Investment, while e-commerce platform Etsy is testing it in a pilot.

This is the ninth investment by Jet Venture 1, the venture fund that Jet Investment launched in 2024 to target industrial B2B startups. Jet Investment, founded in 1997, specialises in Central European industry and manages 17 billion koruna in assets across four qualified-investor funds.

The signal: At $2.2 million, the round sits in the upper tier for its stage — roughly the 70th percentile by amount. The bet reflects a wider theme: investors are backing the infrastructure that keeps AI-generated code shipping, not just the models that write it.
