What's the endgame? Vectus targets governments and critical infrastructure operators, offering air defence as a service. It plans to develop, integrate, and operate multi-level air defence systems.
The company will handle the full stack — architecture, equipment, personnel, operation, management, and maintenance.
Why now? "The threat landscape is evolving rapidly and the demand for private sector solutions is high," said Prince, founder of Vectus Air Defense Systems. He framed cutting the cost of air defence as "not just a business opportunity, but a societal imperative."
The signal: The deal ties software to hardened defence infrastructure and hands operational control to a private operator — a bet that governments and infrastructure owners will increasingly outsource protection.
