Y Combinator to sell up to 1.05% of Meesho for ₹957.5 crore
What's the deal? Y Combinator is set to sell up to 1.05% of its stake in Meesho for ₹957.5 crore through a block deal, sources told CNBC-TV18. The floor price was set at ₹197.5 per share — up to a 4% discount to the previous close.
Why now? Meesho shares ended the previous session 1.7% lower at ₹206. The stock gained 8.5% in the month to 22 August 2026 and 13.45% in 2026.
What changes? Y Combinator will face a 30-day lock-in on further share sales, sources said. At the end of the June 2026 quarter, promoter entities held 16% of Meesho, with public shareholding at 84%.
The numbers: Meesho reported its first quarterly earnings in July 2026. Net loss narrowed 54% to ₹132.8 crore from ₹289.4 crore a year earlier, while revenue rose 48% to ₹3,712.8 crore.
What's the endgame? The e-commerce firm's net merchandise value grew 34% to ₹11,614 crore during the June 2026 quarter. Its contribution margin improved to 4.6%, up from 4% sequentially.
The signal: The share sale marks an early backer trimming its position after Meesho's public debut, a common move as lock-ins ease and newly listed firms report their first results.
