The deal completes a buyout that began in 2021, when Blue Coast took a majority stake. Terms were not disclosed.

Why now? The purchase marks "the completion of a planned process," according to Clive Lewis, chair of Blue Coast Capital. Marshall has not been actively involved in Loaf since 2023.

What's the endgame? Marshall founded Loaf in 2008 and grew it into one of the UK's leading furniture and homeware brands. After the 2021 majority sale, he supported a transition period and stayed on as brand guardian while a new chief executive officer settled in.

The signal: The move completes a phased founder exit, a common structure in private equity deals that keeps founders on board through leadership handovers before a full buyout. With Marshall's shares acquired, Blue Coast now holds sole ownership of the brand.
