Why now? The startup says it didn't need the money. "We have a solid company, doubling year after year and still generating a lot of cash. We didn't need money or big cheques," chief executive officer and co-founder Ricardo Salem told NeoFeed (translated from Portuguese).

Salem said newer investors were willing to write bigger cheques, but Flash chose backers who already sit on its board. "We didn't need funds, but now we can be more flexible and more agile in some investment lines," he said.

What's the endgame? Flash will use the cash to speed up product development — including a copilot to automate HR routines — and deepen its use of artificial intelligence. It also plans to expand its sales team, targeting large accounts.

Founded in 2019 to challenge incumbents in the benefits market, Flash has built a one-stop-shop platform centralising HR routines across people and corporate-expense units. It now covers more than 2 million lives across over 60,000 clients, including PepsicoDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, SuzanoDealroom has a profile for this one.
