KKR takes minority stake in India's BookMyShow

What's the deal? KKR has signed definitive agreements to acquire a minority stake in BookMyShow, the India-based entertainment ticketing and live events company. The two parties announced the transaction in August 2026. Financial terms were not disclosed.

What does BookMyShow do? Founded in 2007, the company operates across movies, live entertainment, and experiences in more than 700 towns and cities in India. It also runs operations in Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, the UAE, and Sri Lanka.

What's the endgame? BookMyShow's live division manages music concerts, theatrical productions, and sports. Past events have included Lollapalooza India, Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, and Cirque du Soleil.
