Y Combinator trims Groww stake again, selling Rs 1,435 crore worth of shares

Why now? The sale is Y Combinator's second in months. In May, it sold a 1.45% stake for Rs 1,642 crore, also through an open market transaction.
The latest deal cut YC Holdings II's stake in the Bengaluru-based company to 7.44% from 8.63%. Buyers of the shares could not be ascertained from exchange data.
The numbers: Groww, India's largest broking firm by active investors, reported net profit of Rs 735 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026 — up 94% from Rs 378 crore a year earlier. Consolidated revenue from operations rose 66% to Rs 1,501 crore in Q1 FY27, from Rs 904 crore.
What could go wrong? Shares of Billionbrains Garage Ventures settled 2.52% lower at Rs 193.70 on the BSE on Tuesday.
The signal: An early backer steadily paring its position, even as the company posts sharp profit and revenue growth, points to a maturing exit for one of India's most-watched fintech listings.
