VERO lands new backing from Sun River as it targets profitability by year-end
What's the deal? Vero Technologies, a multifamily risk and leasing decision platform, has raised a growth equity round led by existing investor Sun River Capital, a Dallas-based firm. The company said the round was funded entirely by its current investor group.
What does VERO do? It combines applicant screening, risk analysis, and protection services in one platform to help property owners prevent fraud, protect net operating income, and speed up leasing. Its SOC 2-compliant workflow covers identity and income verification, credit and criminal checks, document fraud detection, and AI-driven decision support, integrating with Yardi, Entrata, RealPage, and Rent ManagerDealroom has a profile for this one. Why now? VERO's platform now supports leasing decisions on 1,390 properties across 40 states. The company is targeting profitability by the end of 2026 after 31,140% growth since 2021, and says the round lets it keep scaling without raising more capital.
What they're saying: "Having the investors closest to our business choose to double down is the strongest validation we could ask for," said chief executive officer Jamey Rosamond.
Sun River's Copley Broer, co-managing director, said the firm "seeks to increase our ownership in the portfolio companies where we have the highest conviction. VERO is squarely one of them."
The signal: Insider-led rounds like this one let fast-growing startups extend their runway on the strength of existing conviction rather than testing fresh market appetite. For VERO, it is a bet that scale plus a clear path to profitability can carry the company through its next phase.
