Why now? The raise coincides with the launch of a major new version of Sophiie's platform. The company says it is growing 10–15% month-on-month and now serves thousands of businesses across Australia, New Zealand, and the UK.
What's the endgame? Sophiie is evolving from an AI receptionist into a system designed to run workflows for trades operations. From a customer's first enquiry, it can qualify leads, book and schedule work, coordinate jobs, generate quotes, manage follow-ups, and support invoicing through one layer.
What's the problem it targets? Owners of high-volume trades such as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC can lose as much as 16 hours a week to admin. "They have an admin problem because they're incredibly busy," said co-founder and chief executive officer Jacob Banks.
Where the money goes: Sophiie will use the capital to accelerate product development, grow its team, deepen its presence in existing markets, and expand into the US later in 2026. "We believe there is an enormous opportunity to build the global AI operating system for trades," Banks said.
The signal: The round sits in the 92.5th percentile among all-time seed rounds for Australian jobs and recruitment startups, a sign of investor appetite for vertical AI tools aimed at underserved, admin-heavy industries.
