How it works: Rather than own planes or trucks, ClearJet connects shippers with unused cargo capacity on commercial flights already flying between US cities. Founder and chief executive officer Chris Guggenheim calls the resulting network — spanning 95 US airports — a "super carrier." Retailers connect through an API and generate a two-day shipping label. The startup says its asset-light model can cut shipping costs by as much as 35% while speeding deliveries by one to three days. ClearJet is profitable, with revenue more than tripling year over year and approaching nine figures. It moves more than 30 million packages annually — still a fraction of the roughly 1.8 billion US parcels it considers eligible to move by air.
