SUNation Energy advances reverse merger with Suniva
What's the deal? SUNation EnergyDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a Nasdaq-listed solar systems provider, is advancing a proposed reverse merger with Suniva, a solar cell manufacturer. Under the agreement signed in June 2026, Suniva would become a wholly owned subsidiary of SUNation, with closing targeted for the fourth quarter of 2026.
Why now? SUNation reported second-quarter 2026 results as it managed the effects of the US residential solar tax-credit expiry at the end of 2025. Net loss narrowed to $3.34 million, while operating expenses fell 24% year over year to $5.31 million.
What's the endgame? The merger remains subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals. SUNation says it is focused on liquidity, balance-sheet strength and a more diversified revenue mix as residential demand remains under pressure.
The signal: The proposed tie-up combines a solar installer with a solar-cell manufacturer as the US residential market adjusts to a post-subsidy environment.
