AB Science raises €14.2M private placement to fund cancer and ALS trials
What's the deal? French biotech AB ScienceDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → completed a €14.2 million private placement on 10 August 2026. The capital increase was subscribed by a limited number of investors, including €12 million from an existing long-term investor, while CEO Stéphane Ledermann also invested personally.
Where does the money go? AB Science said it will use the proceeds to fund research and development, primarily its AB8939 programme for acute myeloid leukaemia and masitinib for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. The financing is intended to cover its needs beyond the next 12 months.
What's next? The company plans to finalise and announce its new growth priorities and value-creation strategies in September 2026.
The signal: The financing strengthens AB Science's cash position to around €23 million and gives the listed drug developer additional runway as it prepares a strategic reset.
