iRhythm to buy VitalConnect for $287.5M to widen cardiac monitoring reach
What's the deal? iRhythm Technologies has agreed to acquire VitalConnect for about $287.5 million. The consideration is roughly $237.5 million in cash, funded from iRhythm's balance sheet, plus about $50 million in iRhythm common stock.
What's the endgame? The transaction expands iRhythm's cardiac monitoring platform from ambulatory monitoring into mobile cardiac telemetry, multi-vitals and hospital monitoring across inpatient and remote care settings.
Why now? iRhythm expects the acquisition to lift its revenue growth rate starting in 2027 while preserving its previously stated 15% adjusted EBITDA margin target for that year. The transaction is expected to close after customary conditions.
What it means. The deal broadens iRhythm's addressable market and adds VitalConnect's FDA-cleared monitoring capabilities across ambulatory, inpatient and hospital-to-home care.
