Sol.One raises €2M at €750M valuation, breaks ground on Ghent drone factory

What's the deal? Sol.One, the Belgian developer of autonomous drone systems and defence technology, has raised €2 million at a €750 million valuation, the company announced on August 3, 2026. Leviora Capital led the early-stage round, which combines equity and debt. Sol.One says it is in talks with additional parties about follow-on investment in the following weeks and months.

What's the endgame? The company wants to rank among the five largest unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) firms in Europe. It builds on 14 years of experience in EASA-certified aviation electronics and develops the Saboteur platform, the Hitchhiker and Buzzkill interceptors, and the SolFusion data platform.

The expansion: On August 4, 2026, Sol.One begins fitting out a new 8,000m² drone factory in Evergem, near Ghent. Production of its Saboteur drones moves to the site immediately, while the facility is progressively equipped to manufacture at automotive scale.

Why now? Sol.One has also reserved the ticker symbol DRONE on the Euronext main market, ahead of a future stock market listing. The three moves, chief executive officer Filip Verhaeghe said, are "three concrete building blocks of one and the same ambition."

The signal: The round reflects sector momentum around European defence and drone technology, as governments and investors move to build sovereign UAV capacity. Sol.One, headquartered in Bruges with production in Ghent, participates in European and Belgian defence programmes.
