Prim buys Ortopedia Queraltó, entering Andalusia's orthopaedic market
What's the deal? Prim, the listed Spanish health and medical technology company, has acquired 100% of Seville-based Ortopedia QueraltóDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →. The deal brings a network of eight stores across Seville and Huelva provinces into Centros Ortopédicos Prim, marking its entry into Andalusia.
The details: The acquired stores span four locations in Seville city, one in Écija, two in Huelva city, and one in Riotinto. Queraltó employs more than 40 people, including 15 orthopaedic technicians whose continuity Prim called a central pillar of the deal.
Why now? The purchase follows the inorganic growth strategy Prim laid out in its strategic plan on 21 May 2026. Executive director Fernando Oliveros Arreaga said the company keeps advancing that roadmap by "incorporating companies with brand, team, and local roots that reinforce our value proposition."
What's the endgame? Queraltó adds a brand with more than 125 years of history and its own manufacturing capabilities, which Oliveros said "fit naturally" with Prim's model. Prim will retain those operations: three licensed workshops, an orthopaedic footwear workshop in Seville, and expertise in upper- and lower-limb prosthetics using CAD-CAM (3D) measurement.
The signal: The deal deepens Prim's direct patient-care network and reflects a consolidation push in Spain's fragmented orthopaedics sector, where established local brands offer scale-hungry buyers ready-made footholds in new regions.
