Deel acquires Clarity to strengthen identity verification, surpasses $1.5B ARR

What's the deal? Deel, the workforce management unicorn, is acquiring Israeli deepfake security startup ClarityDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → in a deal estimated at $40-50 million. Neither company disclosed terms, but the payment is expected to combine cash and Deel shares.

What does Clarity do? The startup specialises in identity verification, deepfake detection, and fraud prevention. Its technology helps organisations confirm that the people they recruit are who they claim to be.

Why now? AI-generated identities have turned remote hiring into a growing security risk. Companies increasingly need ways to verify that new employees are genuine.

What's the endgame? Deel manages payroll and hiring for a global, distributed workforce. Adding Clarity's tools lets it build fraud prevention directly into how it onboards and verifies workers. The deal is Deel's 15th acquisition, and the company says it has now surpassed $1.5 billion in annual recurring revenue (ARR).

The signal: As deepfakes make it easier to fake a job candidate, verification is becoming core infrastructure for remote work — and platforms that handle global hiring are moving to own that layer.
