DoiT buys Attribute in fifth deal, targets $5B AWS goal
DoiT has acquired AI cost-management startup Attribute to launch a real-time, kernel-level token economics product. The Santa Clara-based company also became an inaugural partner for the new AWS Business Value Realization (BVR) Competency, designed to prove measurable financial and technical outcomes for enterprise customers.
The purchase is DoiT's fifth in 18 months, part of a run of deals focused on AI cost management. It coincides with the launch of the Tokenomics Foundation by the Linux Foundation and FinOps Foundation, which aims to set operational standards for AI token attribution.
DoiT wants to shift enterprise focus from raw usage tracking to measuring return on investment. Its DoiT Attribute tool tracks consumption at the kernel level without SDKs or tagging, linking abstract AI token costs to individual customers, features, and autonomous agents.
The platform uses lightweight, kernel-level eBPF sensors for rapid deployment, promising 15-minute integration to bridge infrastructure spend with business outcomes. It also manages expenses from autonomous agent loops in shared GPU environments without changes to existing software.
The BVR Competency adds to DoiT's twelve specialisations and complements a five-year strategic collaboration agreement with AWS to generate $5 billion in business. "This approach enhances DoiT's appeal to large enterprises," said Amit Kinha, DoiT's field chief technology officer, who framed the recognition as part of a broader strategy rather than a single milestone.
The deal reflects a shift in cloud cost management toward measuring the economic value of completed tasks over token volume. The global cloud cost management market reached $4.95 billion in 2025 and is projected to hit roughly $25.39 billion by 2035, a 17.80% compound annual growth rate. DoiT is positioning to be the company most closely identified with AI token attribution as that market expands.
