Rintin raises $6.2M to digitise sourcing for Mexico's micro-merchants
Rintin , a B2B commerce platform founded by Argentines Quinto Van Peborgh and Gastón Greco, has raised $6.2 million in an early-stage round. Cometa led, with Newtopia VC , Latin Leap , Amador Holdings , and FJ Labs joining.
Angels include Guillermo Rauch ( Vercel ), Guibert Englebienne ( Globant ), Adolfo Babatz (Clip), Josh Silverman (Etsy), and Matías Woloski (Auth0).
Rintin operates in Mexico, connecting small merchants and resellers directly with wholesale manufacturers and importers. It cuts out traditional middlemen, offering a marketplace of more than 15,000 SKUs, home delivery, and embedded credit.
The platform uses AI to score creditworthiness from unstructured data, reaching entrepreneurs with no formal financial history. A community of more than 50,000 active sellers in WhatsApp groups validates products and drives demand.
More than 12,000 entrepreneurs have bought through Rintin, and it has issued over $2 million in credit.
Rintin plans to scale its marketplace, strengthen logistics, deepen credit penetration, and keep building AI sales and management tools for users.
Micro and small businesses make up over 55% of Mexico's workforce but remain largely invisible to traditional financial systems. "When everything depends on cash, you end up spending your time surviving instead of growing the business," said Greco.
At $6.2 million, the round sits in the top third of comparable early-stage deals — a sign investors see room to build credit and logistics rails for a segment banks have long overlooked.
