Vida Shoes acquires Donald Pliner to expand its footwear portfolio
Vida Shoes International has acquired premium footwear brand Donald Pliner , including its intellectual property and related assets. The transaction closed on July 20, 2026, and financial terms were not disclosed.
Donald Pliner, founded in 1989, makes women's and men's footwear that blends design, comfort and premium craftsmanship. It sells through department stores, specialty retailers, digital partners and direct-to-consumer channels.
Vida plans to preserve Donald Pliner's identity and product assortment while investing in product development, materials, construction methods and digital commerce. It also intends to keep the brand's current retail relationships and selectively broaden distribution without weakening its premium positioning.
The deal expands Vida's stable of owned and licensed brands. Owned brands include Jambu , JBU, J Sport, Aquatalia, Andre Assous and Munro, while its licensed portfolio spans BCBG, Bruno Magli, Kenneth Cole, Stride Rite and Carter's.
"Donald Pliner is an iconic brand with tremendous heritage, strong consumer recognition and significant growth potential," said Solomon Dabah, president of Vida Shoes International. He added that its "premium positioning and loyal customer base align perfectly with our expertise and long-term vision."
Griffin Guez, chief executive officer of Donald Pliner, who led the brand for six years, said Vida's "proven record in the footwear industry, deep expertise and exceptional team make them the ideal home for the future of Donald Pliner."
The acquisition reflects continued consolidation in footwear, as multi-brand operators build scale by absorbing established names. For Vida, adding Donald Pliner deepens its position in the fashion-comfort segment; for a brand that spent recent years rebuilding, it gains the infrastructure to chase growth.
