JiranSoft merges AI unit NextIntelligence.ai, targets ₩40B in 2025 revenue

What's the deal? South Korean security firm Jiran Jigyo SoftDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → is absorbing two subsidiaries to build a single software company targeting ₩40 billion (about $29 million) in annual revenue this year. It absorbed data-security unit Jiran Jigyo Data in June and will merge AI unit NextIntelligence.aiDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → (NI) in August.

What each company does: Jiran Jigyo Soft sells security products including PC-security tool OfficeKeeper, collaboration platform OfficeNext, and enterprise AI solution OfficeAgent. Jiran Jigyo Data protects personal and sensitive information, while NI builds email and workplace AI technology.

What's the endgame? The combined company will position itself as a "Secure AI Office" platform, merging security, data, and AI capabilities. "What we want to build is a 'Secure AI Office' that protects important data while letting AI be used naturally in work," chief executive officer Park Seung-ae said at a media day in Seongnam on June 14.

Why now? Park framed the deal as a growth move rather than a rescue. "This merger is a choice for an already well-performing company to grow bigger," she said, adding that the AI era demands AI talent — found in Jiran Jigyo Data's enterprise strength and NI's AI capabilities.

What changes: The two units were not outsiders — Jiran Jigyo Soft owned 100% of Jiran Jigyo Data and was NI's largest shareholder. Separate legal entities fragmented products, technology, brand, and decision-making, Park said, so unification lets them move as one.

By the numbers: The three companies posted combined 2024 revenue of ₩31.3 billion — ₩15.6 billion at Jiran Jigyo Soft, ₩13.8 billion at Jiran Jigyo Data, and ₩1.9 billion at NI. The merger aims to lift that to ₩40 billion this year.

Leadership: Yoo Byung-wan, formerly of Jiran Jigyo Data, will lead the data division. Park will oversee the office business and management, and NI's Lee Seok-min becomes head of the development division and chief technology officer.

The signal: The consolidation reflects how security vendors are folding data protection and AI into single platforms as enterprise buyers demand tools that keep data safe while embedding AI in daily work. To hit its target, Jiran Jigyo Soft plans to accelerate its push into the B2B software-as-a-service and enterprise markets.
