InfiniNode raises €2M pre-seed to cut AI computing's energy bill
InfiniNode Technologies, a Gothenburg-based semiconductor startup, has raised €2M in a pre-seed round to develop chip technology that moves data faster and more efficiently inside advanced computing systems. Turbine Capital, PSV Hafnium, Norrsken Evolve, Chalmers Ventures, and Almi Invest all participated.
A spin-out from Chalmers University of Technology, InfiniNode licenses semiconductor intellectual property (IP) that helps designers improve scalability, boost performance, and reduce power consumption in System-on-Chip (SoC) platforms. Its customers build next-generation AI, RISC-V, high-performance computing, and chiplet-based systems.
As AI workloads surge, efficiently moving data between processors, accelerators, and memory has become one of the semiconductor industry's most pressing challenges. That movement increasingly defines both system performance and energy use.
The funding will expand InfiniNode's IP portfolio, customer engagements, and engineering team as it scales internationally. "This financing allows us to accelerate our technology roadmap, strengthen customer collaborations and expand our semiconductor IP portfolio," said chief executive officer Patrik Millsjö.
The round reflects a bet that AI infrastructure can't scale on brute-force hardware alone. "Simply adding more hardware is not a sustainable path forward," said David Storek, pre-seed investment director at Chalmers Ventures, pointing to on-chip efficiency as the next lever for AI's energy problem.
