Reconova raises US$73.5M in Hong Kong IPO, shares fall 17% on debut
What's the deal? Reconova Technologies (also rendered Rayvision), a Xiamen-based visual intelligence firm, listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on 8 July 2026, raising about US$73.5M (roughly US$72.5M, or $77 million). Its shares opened at US$2.18, a 16.9% drop from the US$2.62 issue price. By the midday break, the stock traded at US$2.49, down 4.8%, valuing the company at US$760.9M.
What's the endgame? Founded in 2012, Reconova builds visual perception products spanning civil aviation, commercial spaces, and safe driving, using self-developed visual models and multi-spectral imaging. It has launched the Xiaorui travel service robot and Xiaoyi baggage handling robot, and three internal systems: RecoSee, RecoAware, and RecoThink.
Who's backing it? Reconova completed nine funding rounds before listing, raising a cumulative US$78.5M. Its Series E in April 2025 set a post-money valuation of US$488.1M. IntelDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → is a major shareholder, holding a 4.16% stake.
By the numbers: Revenue rose from US$33.3M in 2023 to US$60.9M in 2025, a 35.2% compound annual growth rate. The company remains unprofitable, posting a US$9.35M net loss in 2025 versus an US$1.1M profit the year before, driven by higher R&D spending. Gross margins held near 40% across the period.
What could go wrong? The debut-day slide underscores investor caution over a company that swung back into losses. Rising accounts receivable and expanding impairment charges add pressure as it scales.
The signal: Reconova ranks first in China's civil aviation enterprise visual intelligence market with an 8.7% share, per Frost & Sullivan. Its listing shows appetite for AI vision players remains, but a soft opening signals investors are weighing growth against mounting losses.
