Baidu, Yunfeng back Agibot's embodied AI data unit Mifeng

The terms: The capital injection lifted Mifeng's registered capital from 5 million yuan ($688,000) to about 5.29 million yuan ($728,000). The entity, established in February 2026 and legally represented by Yao Maoqing, is now jointly held by AgiBot Innovation (Shanghai) Technology, Shanghai Fenghe Ruili Technology Partnership, and the new institutional shareholders.

Why now? Capital is flowing toward platform developers that can generate high-fidelity physical interaction datasets used to train next-generation industrial robotics. Standardized data collection remains a critical bottleneck for commercializing embodied AI.

The signal: As competition intensifies in hardware, major Chinese technology firms are using specialized investment vehicles to lock in upstream data services and proprietary software ahead of mass-market deployment.
