Amity Robotics raises $7M seed to take Thai physical AI global
Bangkok-based Amity Robotics has raised $7 million in a seed round of equity and debt to expand its robotics platform.
East Ventures anchored the equity portion, with 500 Global joining. AlteriQ Global led the debt facility.
The startup builds AI-powered robotic systems for hotels, malls, and other high-traffic venues. Its flagship product, ARC Base, is a stationary concierge kiosk that handles voice-based customer interactions.
ARC Base has already been deployed at more than 30 properties across seven markets, including Singapore, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Hong Kong.
Its customers include mall operators Siam Piwat and The Mall Group, plus hotels run by IHG, Accor, and Shangri-La. Amity expects its first European deployment later this month.
The capital will deepen those deployments and commercialise the company's first mobile robot.
"The momentum behind ARC Base across malls and hotels in seven markets shows that physical AI is ready for real commercial deployment, not just pilots," said Lionel Chin, chief operating officer of Amity Robotics.
Physical AI is capital-intensive, and hardware scaleups face steep costs moving from kiosks to mobile robots.
The split between the equity and debt components was not disclosed, leaving the true dilution and repayment burden unclear.
The round underscores a wider bet that physical AI is moving from pilots to paying customers, with East Ventures — an Indonesia-focused fund that has backed over 300 startups across nine Southeast Asia funds — anchoring an early-stage company aiming to export robotics from Thailand rather than import it. The blend of equity and debt from AlteriQ Global also reflects how hardware-heavy scaleups increasingly lean on non-dilutive capital to fund capital-intensive deployments.
