Why now? Stripe made it easy to take money in, but sending it out remains painful. Music distributors, influencer agencies, and creator marketplaces still handle outbound payments by hand.
They track payments across countries, manage taxes, currency swings, and compliance — tasks that grow costlier as a business scales.
The opportunity is huge. The business-to-business payments market is expected to grow from $1.42 trillion in 2025 to $3.43 trillion by 2031, a yearly growth rate of 15%.
Talentir handles the entire outbound payment process in one system: data collection, reconciliation, compliance, tax, recipient onboarding, and payment. A team of just six processes daily payouts in the millions, and aims to hit €100 million in annual volume next.
What could go wrong? Talentir bet early on stablecoin rails instead of traditional banks — a choice that drew doubt before paying off.
It also acts as a regulated Merchant of Record, taking on compliance, tax filings, and recipient onboarding. That model carries real legal responsibility.
Rivals are entrenched too. Competitors Tipalti and Trolley use traditional payment systems and settle in one to five days, as does Payoneer.
The signal: Talentir is still an early-stage company, yet it has already pulled in a fund whose partners include a former Google chief financial officer — a vote of confidence that outbound payouts are becoming fintech's next infrastructure layer. With the B2B payments market on track to more than double to $3.43 trillion by 2031, the bet is that whoever automates the messy last mile of compliance, tax, and cross-border settlement captures an outsized slice of it.
