The money will fund recruitment technology and cement its grip on Nordic startup hiring, with eyes on Europe later.
Why now? Since launching in 2015, The Hub has become one of the most-used recruitment platforms for Nordic startups.
More than 14,000 startups have used it. Today it holds 850,000 candidate profiles, four million job applications, and roughly 10,000 daily active users.
Originally a free platform funded by Danske Bank, it was acquired in 2023 by entrepreneur Thomas Sveum and Mesh, who turned it into a profitable business.
The Hub aims to build a "2.0" from that profitable base for the AI era.
What could go wrong? The Hub is betting against the crowd.
Rivals in Europe and the US have raised far larger sums to build agentic sourcing tools for big companies. The Hub instead targets small, high-risk startup teams where culture and working style matter as much as a CV.
"Most early-stage companies are still forced to use tools that weren't built for them," says Sveum. "Those qualities are almost impossible to assess from a CV alone."
The signal: The Hub's backers are angels, not institutional funds — a roster of operators including founders from Tise, Superside, Kahoot, and Firi who know Nordic startup hiring first-hand. That networked credibility, paired with an already profitable base, is what The Hub is betting will let it defend its niche against far-better-capitalised enterprise recruitment players.
