SSCBs swap traditional electromechanical systems for semiconductor technology with digital control, enabling real-time protection and better energy efficiency.

Why now? AI data centres are straining power infrastructure, driving demand for the 800V DC architectures AlpSemi is targeting.

Investor Navitas Semiconductor is both financier and strategic partner, working on its own GaN and SiC solutions for the 800V DC standard in AI servers.

AlpSemi's first product, the AS800, is a power semiconductor for miniature circuit breakers running at 110V and 230V. It offers high power density and supports distributed energy sources.

The signal: The round pairs an early-stage chipmaker with strategically aligned backers — corporate investor Navitas Semiconductor brings its own GaN and SiC work on the 800V DC standard, while SE Ventures ties AlpSemi directly to Schneider ElectricDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →'s grid-digitisation ambitions. That mix signals investor conviction that solid-state switching is becoming foundational infrastructure for AI-era power demand.
