1KOMMA5° launches €1bn financing programme for home clean energy

What's the deal? German cleantech unicorn 1KOMMA5° has launched a €1 billion ($1.14 billion) financing programme to help households install clean energy systems.

The scheme, backed by European investors and banks, covers heat pumps, solar panels, battery storage, and EV charging stations. Customers pay in monthly installments at a 5.99% interest rate and become owners of the systems, with terms of up to 25 years aligned to each technology's lifespan.

Why now? Europe is pushing to electrify homes and cut reliance on fossil fuels. Upfront costs remain the biggest barrier for households. By spreading payments, 1KOMMA5° aims to make the switch affordable for more buyers — and positions the offer as a counter-model to the rental and leasing deals it has long criticised.

The signal: 1KOMMA5° is pairing its Heartbeat AI home energy management with the financing muscle to scale adoption — a sign that Europe's cleantech leaders increasingly see consumer credit, not just hardware, as the route to mass-market electrification.
