RMRN Ventures, BP Jain Holdings, Bipin Preet Singh, Aakash Goyal, Aakash Anand, and Aditya Singh also participated.
Founded in 2025 by Mishu Ahluwalia, Rishi Raj Kochhar, and Sahil Jindal, Trevel offers EV-based airport transfers, city rides, and hourly rentals across Delhi NCR. It plans to use the funds for fleet expansion, technology development, marketing, and operations.
Why now? India's EV ecosystem is gaining momentum, and urban ride-hailing is a natural entry point for electric fleets. Trevel has signed memoranda of understanding with MG Motor IndiaDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → and Kia India to support its expansion, and it recently launched Trevel 2.0, an updated version of its technology platform.
The startup currently operates a fleet that includes the MG Windsor EV, MG ZS EV, Kia Carens Clavis EV, and BYD e6. It plans to add roughly 25 vehicles per month and grow its fleet to 500 vehicles by March 2027.
What could go wrong? Scaling an asset-heavy EV fleet business is capital-intensive and operationally complex. Charging infrastructure in Indian cities remains patchy, and competition from established ride-hailing giants like Ola and Uber — both investing in EV fleets — could squeeze a young entrant.
A $1 million seed round is modest for the ambition of reaching 500 vehicles in under two years, meaning Trevel will likely need to raise again soon.
The signal: The involvement of the Haldiram's Family Office — one of India's most prominent consumer-brand dynasties — alongside dedicated investment funds like India Accelerator and Finvolve suggests growing family-office appetite for early-stage EV mobility bets. For a company founded only in 2025, securing OEM partnerships with MG Motor India and Kia India before even closing a large funding round points to carmakers actively seeking dedicated EV ride-hailing platforms as a distribution channel — a dynamic that could give niche, EV-first operators a structural edge over incumbents retrofitting existing fleets.
