Soffi raises $4.6M pre-seed led by Innovation Endeavors

What's the deal? SoffiDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a San Francisco-based startup building a collaborative development environment for enterprise product teams, has emerged from stealth with $4.6M in pre-seed funding. Innovation Endeavors led the round, with Motive Force Ventures and Darkmode VenturesDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → also participating.

The company, founded by chief executive officer Cris Dobbins, turns a company's product into a live workspace where designers, product managers, and engineers collaborate on real, deployed software. The goal: transform product ideas into production-ready code in a single environment.

Soffi plans to use the funds to accelerate product development, enterprise expansion, and team growth.

Why now? Over the past eight months, Soffi has been partnering with product organisations ranging from AI startups to large enterprises. The timing reflects a broader push to eliminate friction between design and engineering workflows — a gap that has widened as software teams have grown more distributed and product cycles have compressed.

Every Soffi workspace is a live version of a customer's product, connected to its codebase, design system, and data. Teams can open any branch as a one-click preview with no local setup, collaborate directly on running interfaces, and ship changes back as production-ready code. Under the hood, Soffi reads the codebase to build a working knowledge base of the product's architecture, so every change reflects what's actually shipping.

What could go wrong? Collaborative dev tools are a crowded space, with incumbents like Figma, Linear, and various code-review platforms all vying for product teams' attention. Convincing enterprises to adopt yet another tool — one that sits at the intersection of design and engineering — will require proving that the productivity gains justify the integration effort.

Security could also be a concern. Connecting live codebases and production data to a shared workspace raises questions about access control and data governance, particularly for large enterprises with strict compliance requirements.

The signal: Innovation Endeavors, the investment fund founded by Eric Schmidt, leading this pre-seed round signals strong conviction from a tier-one backer that the coordination layer between design and engineering is ripe for reinvention. With Soffi already engaging large enterprises alongside AI startups during its stealth period, the bet is that AI-native tooling — as Dealroom categorises the company — won't just generate code faster but will fundamentally reshape how cross-functional product teams collaborate on what's actually shipping.
