XBOW raises another $35M as big-name investors double down on AI cybersecurity
What's the deal? XBOW, a Seattle-based autonomous offensive security company, has raised an additional $35M in strategic financing to extend its Series C round to $155M. The new capital comes from Accenture Ventures, DNX Ventures, Liberty Global Tech Ventures, NVentures (NVIDIA's venture capital arm), Samsung Ventures, and SentinelOne S Ventures — several of which are also XBOW customers.
"The strongest alignment is when your customers are also in the trenches with you as investors and partners," said Oege de Moor, founder and chief executive officer of XBOW.
Why now? The rise of AI-powered cyberattacks has changed the math for defenders. Attackers can now probe systems continuously and at scale, making traditional human-led penetration testing too slow and too infrequent to keep up. XBOW uses AI to find and exploit vulnerabilities the way attackers do — running around the clock rather than as a one-off test.
The company now serves more than 100 customers worldwide, including Moderna and Seznam. It recently surpassed 250 employees.
What could go wrong? The offensive security space is getting crowded, and XBOW's pitch — that it can replace or supplement human red teams — depends on consistently low false-positive rates. If the platform generates too much noise, the core value proposition erodes. Scaling internationally, especially in Asia Pacific, also introduces new regulatory and competitive dynamics.
The signal: When customers start writing cheques as investors, it says something about product-market fit. SentinelOne's Alex Krongold called XBOW "an extension of our in-house red team," noting it delivers "speed and depth that was previously out of reach." Samsung, which acts as a preferred reseller in South Korea, echoed similar enthusiasm.
The broader trend is clear: as software ships faster, continuous offensive testing is shifting from a nice-to-have to a core layer of the security stack. XBOW is betting that AI-driven attack simulation will become as routine as the development pipelines it protects.
