Stellar Cyber raises $25M for AI-driven cybersecurity platform

What's the deal? Stellar Cyber, an AI-driven security operations (SecOps) platform, has raised $25M in new funding, according to filings with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The company builds tools purpose-built for managed security service providers (MSSPs) and enterprise security teams.

Founded in 2015, Stellar Cyber's platform unifies SIEM, network detection and response, identity threat detection, and AI-driven triage into a single system. It claims to improve analyst productivity by more than 80% and reduce false positives by over 90%.

The company says it is trusted by one-third of the world's top 250 MSSPs and over 14,000 organisations worldwide.

Why now? Demand for AI-powered cybersecurity tools continues to surge as organisations face increasingly sophisticated threats and a persistent shortage of skilled security analysts. Platforms that consolidate multiple security functions — and use AI to automate detection and response — are well-positioned to capture spending from overstretched security teams.

What could go wrong? The cybersecurity market is fiercely competitive, with well-funded incumbents like Palo Alto Networks, CrowdStrike, and Microsoft all pushing AI-driven security offerings. Stellar Cyber will need to keep differentiating its open platform approach against rivals with deeper pockets and broader enterprise footprints.

The SEC filing reveals little about the investors or the round's structure, making it difficult to assess the terms or valuation.

The signal: This raise reflects a broader trend of consolidation in security operations tooling. Buyers increasingly want fewer vendors and more unified platforms — especially when AI can replace the manual grunt work that burns out analysts. For MSSPs managing dozens of clients, a single pane of glass backed by machine learning and agentic AI is becoming table stakes, not a nice-to-have.
