Evam raises SEK 38M Series A from Industrifonden and FSG to scale public safety platform

What's the deal?

Stockholm-based Evam has raised SEK 38 million in a Series A round led by Industrifonden and Fåhraeus Startup & Growth (FSG). The public safety software company will use the funds to expand internationally and develop its platform for emergency response organisations.

Evam builds in-vehicle incident management systems and mobile tools for frontline personnel — used by police, ambulance, and fire services. Its products are already deployed across more than 100 municipalities and regions in Sweden and the UK.

"We've proven that our solutions perform in real operational environments, and with Industrifonden and FSG backing us, we can significantly accelerate both product development and international expansion," said Mikael Erneberg, chief executive officer and co-founder.

Why now?

The global public safety market is undergoing rapid change. Many emergency services still rely on fragmented legacy systems with limited interoperability and poor alignment with real-world workflows. Meanwhile, regulatory demands and expectations around real-time data sharing keep rising — creating demand for modern software.

"Evam addresses a clear and growing need within critical societal infrastructure," said Anna Ljungdahl, senior investment director at Industrifonden. "We see significant potential in supporting the team as they continue their international growth journey."

What could go wrong?

Public safety procurement is notoriously slow and complex, shaped by government budgets, security requirements, and entrenched vendor relationships. Scaling across borders means navigating different regulatory frameworks and winning trust from risk-averse institutions — a process that can take years.

The signal:

Industrifonden, one of Sweden's most established investment funds, backing an early-growth govtech startup underscores rising institutional confidence in public safety software as a venture-scale opportunity. Evam's deployment across more than 100 municipalities and regions in two markets gives it operational credibility that most enterprise software startups at this stage lack — a crucial differentiator when selling into risk-averse government buyers.
