Empower Semiconductor Secures $140M to Scale Power Solutions for the AI Era
Empower Semiconductor has raised US$140 million in Series D funding to scale production of its power-management technology, designed to make computing more efficient at a time when AI and data centres are driving energy use to new heights.
The San Jose-based company is best known for its Crescendo platform, built on FinFast™ architecture. By delivering power vertically beneath processors and combining regulators, capacitors, and magnetics into a single device, it cuts energy loss, reduces space needs, and improves responsiveness—capabilities increasingly vital for large AI models and high-performance workloads.
Alongside Crescendo, Empower develops silicon capacitors and high-frequency integrated voltage regulators that aim to replace the bulky discrete parts still common in power delivery. These solutions give chipmakers and system designers more compact and efficient options as hardware becomes more constrained.
