The company
Onto is a Bengaluru-based hotel booking platform built around an automatic Price Drop Refund: once you've booked, it keeps tracking the rate, rebooks at the lower price if it falls, and refunds the difference. It works even for bookings made on other platforms, shifting the battleground from search to post-booking price protection.
Hotel rates move constantly, yet travellers who book in advance are usually stuck with whatever they paid on the day — a gap the big OTAs have little incentive to close. Onto launched its app in October 2026 to turn that lost upside into an automatic refund.
The company was founded by two former Groww leaders who've picked a familiar consumer pain point — paying more than you need to — and applied continuous price tracking to the travel space.
Founders Jagdeep Singh and Shubham Goyal both come from Groww, where Singh ran broking and mutual funds and Goyal worked as a software architect; between them they pair consumer financial-product experience with engineering depth suited to real-time rate tracking and rebooking.
