The company
European Credit Company (ECC) is a pan-European credit origination and financing platform for performing credit, lending across five asset classes: large and mid-market direct corporate lending, infrastructure lending, commercial real estate lending and other asset-backed finance. It deploys its own long-term balance sheet to fund corporates, private equity sponsors and owners of real assets.
As European banks retrench from long-dated corporate and asset-backed lending, borrowers want flexible, tailored debt from a single counterparty — and ECC is launching to fill that gap with permanent balance-sheet capital rather than fund-cycle money.
ECC was established by Apollo Global Management and launched in November 2026, built to channel long-term debt capital into European performing credit through proprietary origination, bank partnerships and access to Apollo's wider European platform.
The platform is backed by Apollo funds and affiliates alongside institutional investors including Abu Dhabi Investment Council, Athora, Norinchukin Bank, Standard Chartered and Aranda Principal Strategies, and operates with local teams in Frankfurt, Jersey, London, Luxembourg and Milan under founder Giacomo Petrobelli.
