AIPher

AIPher is an AI-native drug discovery company built around two assets: DrugCLIP, a Science-published drug foundation model, and PharmAgents, an R&D agent engine. The aim is to rebuild small-molecule and peptide discovery around exploration, decision-making, and continual learning inside a dry-wet closed loop.

Foundation models are moving from generating text to designing molecules, and AIPher is trying to operationalise that shift with a published model rather than a demo. Its fastest pipeline has already reached Pre-PCC, so the platform is producing candidates, not just papers.

The company was incubated from Tsinghua University's Institute for AI Industry Research (AIR), where DrugCLIP originated. That academic lineage is the founding thesis: turn a peer-reviewed drug foundation model into a working discovery engine.

The public team narrative pairs CEO Bowen Gao with chief scientist Prof. Yanyan Lan and scientific advisor Zhang Yaqin. The company says this mix of AI research and drug-science leadership is what lets it run the dry-wet loop end to end.
