About Zolve

Zolve operates as a neobanking platform targeting the cross-border financial services market for global citizens, particularly immigrants, students, and professionals moving to new countries. The company was founded in 2020 by Raghunandan G and is headquartered in the United States with operations in Bangalore, India. Raghunandan G, an alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad and NIT Surathkal, previously co-founded the taxi aggregator TaxiForSure, which was acquired by Ola Cabs in 2015 for $200 million. His experience with consumer-facing businesses and the realization that financial histories are often erased when people move countries led to the creation of Zolve.

The core of Zolve's business is to provide financial accessibility to individuals underserved by traditional banking systems due to a lack of local credit history. The platform enables users, primarily from India initially, to apply for and obtain essential financial products in the U.S. even before their arrival. Its key value proposition is the ability to underwrite customers based on their home country's credit score and financial data, bypassing the need for a Social Security Number (SSN) or a U.S. credit history upon application. Zolve's primary clients are international students and working professionals migrating to countries like the United States.

Zolve's product suite includes an FDIC-insured U.S. checking account, a high-limit Mastercard credit card, and a debit card, offered in partnership with Community Federal Savings Bank (CFSB). These services are accessible through a mobile application that allows for online account opening in minutes with a valid passport and visa. The platform has no application fees, no annual credit card fees, and no foreign transaction fees on its credit card. Revenue is generated primarily through interchange fees collected when customers use their cards and interest on credit balances. The company has reported a low customer acquisition cost, with a significant portion of its user base acquired through word-of-mouth referrals and partnerships with employers and academic institutions.

Since its inception, Zolve has demonstrated significant growth, securing substantial funding to fuel its expansion. The company raised $15 million in a seed round in February 2021, followed by a $40 million Series A round in October 2021, which valued the company at $210 million. More recently, in March 2025, Zolve secured a combined $251 million in a Series B round, comprising $51 million in equity and a $200 million debt facility to grow its credit portfolio. Having served over 750,000 customers and facilitated more than $1.2 billion in transactions, the company became customer-level profitable in early 2024 and aims for overall profitability by the end of 2025. Zolve plans to expand its geographical footprint to Canada, the UK, and Australia and broaden its product line to include auto loans, personal loans, education loans, international money transfers, and insurance.
