The company launched in July 2018, with John Munnelly, KPMG Australia's Chief Digital Officer, as a key founder. Wiise is 100% owned by KPMG Australia.

The company's core offering is a comprehensive business management software built on the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central platform. It is specifically localized for the Australian market, providing features such as local bank feeds, ATO-compliant payroll, and industry-specific charts of accounts.
