Valere Power
Advanced DC power systems for telecommunications networks.
About Valere Power
Valere Power was a Richardson, Texas-based developer of advanced DC power systems for the telecommunications, data networking, and server application markets. Founded in 2001 by Andrew Marsh, Greg Fasullo, and Vito Savino, the company specialized in creating compact and efficient power conversion solutions. Its proprietary technologies were designed to reduce power dissipation and system size, which appealed to major telecommunications service providers like Verizon and AT&T. The company demonstrated significant growth after its inception, reporting a 77% average annual sales growth between 2004 and 2006. Valere Power raised $33.5 million over two funding rounds from investors, including Sierra Ventures and J.P. Morgan. The product line focused on AC/DC power systems, including rectifiers and modular systems designed for applications such as wireless base stations, broadband deployments, and network switching centers. Its power systems were known for their high power density and remote monitoring capabilities. In a significant strategic move, Valere Power was acquired by Norwegian firm Eltek Energy, a subsidiary of Eltek ASA, in April 2007. The acquisition led to the formation of Eltek Valere, a combined entity with headquarters in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, creating a major global provider of DC power systems with revenues exceeding $500 million. Andrew Marsh, co-founder and CEO of Valere, became the CEO of the newly formed company. The merger combined Valere's strong presence in the U.S. market and rapid growth with Eltek's extensive product line and global reach. Eltek was subsequently acquired by Delta Electronics in 2015, with Eltek continuing as a brand within the larger organization.
