Tsuga

Tsuga is a Paris-based observability platform provider founded in 2024 by Gabriel-James Safar and Sébastien Deprez. The founders previously created Madumbo, a startup acquired by observability giant Datadog in 2018, where they subsequently led key product and engineering initiatives. After leaving Datadog in 2023, they identified a market need for a new approach to observability, leading to the creation of Tsuga.

The company's core offering is an AI-native observability platform built on a "Bring Your Own Cloud" (BYOC) model. This architecture allows enterprises to deploy Tsuga's fully managed platform directly within their own cloud environments (such as AWS, GCP, or Azure), ensuring that sensitive operational data like logs, metrics, and traces never leaves their control. This approach addresses critical enterprise needs for data sovereignty, security, and compliance, particularly in regulated industries like finance and healthcare. The business model aims to provide predictable costs that scale sub-linearly, in contrast to traditional SaaS vendors whose pricing often grows exponentially with data volume. Tsuga achieves this by eliminating data transfer and storage markups, offering a single transparent pricing model for the entire platform.

The platform is built on open-source foundations, including OpenTelemetry and open data formats, which prevents vendor lock-in and allows clients to connect their telemetry data to other tools like data lakes or AI pipelines. It provides a unified view for logs, metrics, and traces to accelerate incident resolution and reduce tool sprawl. In November 2025, Tsuga emerged from stealth with a $10 million (€8.7 million) seed funding round led by General Catalyst, with participation from Singular and several angel investors. The capital is intended to accelerate product development, expand the engineering and customer success teams, and enhance its go-to-market strategy.
