Terra Security, founded in 2024 by CEO Shahar Peled and CTO Gal Malachi, is an Israeli-American cybersecurity firm aiming to redefine offensive security through artificial intelligence. The company has successfully raised a total of $38 million through two funding rounds, including an $8 million seed round in April 2025 and a $30 million Series A round in September 2025. These funding efforts were led by investors such as Felicis, SYN Ventures, and Dell Technologies Capital, with notable participation from prominent angel investors like former Google CISO Gerhard Eschelbeck, who also joined the board of directors.

Terra Security operates in the penetration testing market, offering a continuous, AI-driven platform as a service (PTaaS). The business model addresses the limitations of traditional penetration testing, which is often manual, costly, and infrequent. By providing its solution as a subscription-based service, Terra targets enterprise clients, including Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 companies, helping them move beyond periodic compliance checks to a state of continuous security validation.

The core of Terra's service is its Agentic-AI platform, which deploys a "swarm" of specialized AI agents that simulate the behavior of ethical hackers. These agents perform thousands of advanced tests continuously across a client's web applications, adapting in real-time to the organization's specific business context and risk profile. A key feature is the "human-in-the-loop" mechanism, where expert human testers supervise the AI agents to ensure accuracy, validate findings, and reduce false positives. This hybrid approach combines the scalability and speed of AI with the precision and contextual understanding of human experts. The platform provides real-time, exploit-based insights, prioritizing vulnerabilities based on their actual business impact rather than just technical severity. With the recent funding, the company plans to expand its capabilities into AI-based red teaming and cover a broader enterprise attack surface.
